When you need more than traditional talk therapy
Stuck in the cycle
You understand your patterns, but you still find yourself caught in cycles of reactivity, disconnection, and fear.
Pain that lives in the body
You sense that much of your pain comes from childhood. You feel it in your body, but it’s hard to put into words.
Turning toward, not away
You’ve been numbing, or trying every healing modality under the sun, and you’re starting to see that you’ve been running from your pain. Something in you knows that healing means turning toward it, but that feels too scary to do alone.
Insight alone is not always enough
Sometimes you understand exactly why you do what you do—and still can’t seem to change it.
That’s what happens when trauma lives in the nervous system, below the reach of insight alone. Your body adapted to survive something real, and it may still be running that old program long after the danger has passed.
The way through isn’t more analysis. It’s learning to work with the body itself, as well as the younger parts of you that learned to survive. This is where the pattern lives—and where deeper healing can begin.
This is the work I do, and I don’t do it from behind a clipboard.
I’m Krista Sabados, a licensed marriage and family therapist in Irvine, and I come to this work as a human first.
I’ve had to find my own way through patterns and childhood wounds that insight alone couldn’t change. That doesn’t make your story the same as mine. It means I know what it feels like to stand where you are, wondering why nothing you’ve tried seems to last.
I’ll meet you with warmth, honesty, and curiosity—but I won’t simply listen while the same painful loop repeats session after session. I’ll help you notice the pattern while you’re living it. I’ll challenge the places where survival has become mistaken for identity. And together, we’ll work with your nervous system so change can happen somewhere deeper than understanding alone.
Over time, your body can begin to learn something it may never have fully known: what safety actually feels like.
Getting to the Source
My practice, Source Healing Psychotherapy, is built around depth work: getting to the source of your pain and working with it as a whole person—not as a collection of symptoms.
I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. I want to deeply know you: your history, your aspirations, your wounds, your strengths, and the ways you’ve learned to survive. From there, we build an approach around what you actually need.
My work draws from somatic and mind-body trauma therapy, parts work, psychodynamic therapy, DBT, CBT, and Mindful Self-Compassion. I’m particularly drawn to approaches that can reach places insight alone often cannot.
One of those is the Comprehensive Resource Model (CRM). I trained directly with its developer, Lisa Schwarz, in this trauma-focused approach and integrate it with Internal Family Systems-informed parts work, somatic practices, and—for those who want it—a spiritual dimension that honors the whole of who you are.
So what could life actually look like?
Your body as a place you live, not a thing you manage. Mornings that don’t start with dread. A nervous system that can settle. Saying no without a three-day guilt spiral. Feeling your feelings without being flooded by them. Trusting yourself again.
Not becoming someone new. Returning to the self that was there all along.
You don’t have to do this alone, and you don’t have to know exactly what you need before reaching out. Start with a free 15-minute consultation, and we’ll talk about what’s been happening and whether this work is the right fit.

Complex Trauma
You don’t need another explanation of why you’re hurting. You need a different way of working with the part of you that still believes it has to survive.
Explore →Anxiety
Anxiety isn’t the enemy. It’s your nervous system trying to protect you with outdated information. Together we help it learn something new.
Explore →Couples
The argument isn’t really about the dishes, the text message, or the money. It’s two nervous systems protecting old wounds in the only ways they know how.

Depth work in motion. Sessions on the sand in Huntington Beach, where nature, movement, and somatic trauma work meet.

Coaching & Healing
Growth and transformation drawing on the full toolkit: mindfulness, breathwork, spiritual practice, and a guide who has walked the territory. Available worldwide.
This is coaching, not therapy, and not a substitute for it.
Explore →For Organizations
Burnout has a source too, and it’s rarely what the wellness program is treating. Discovery-driven workshops and group facilitation built from what your people are actually living, not from a template.
Explore →Do you take insurance?
For individual therapy, yes. I accept Medicare, and I’m in-network with Kaiser Permanente, Anthem Blue Cross California, Aetna, Cigna, and Health Net, among others. See FAQs and Fees for the full list of accepted plans.
Couples work and intensives are private pay. Insurance requires a diagnosis and dictates session length and structure, and this work doesn’t fit that frame.
Don’t see your plan? Reach out anyway. Many plans include out-of-network benefits, and I can provide a superbill for reimbursement. I’m also happy to discuss private pay rates.
I’ll walk you through your benefits on the consultation call.
Why We Started
This practice began with a simple conviction: that people deserve more than tools for managing symptoms they never chose. We built it to make room for the slower, deeper work that actually reaches the source.

How We Work
We start by understanding what your patterns have been protecting you from, rather than rushing to manage them. From there the work moves at the pace your body sets, staying with what you feel rather than only what you can explain.
PN365E3
What To Expect
Early sessions are mostly about getting a feel for each other and finding what already helps you settle. There’s no script to keep up with, and nothing you have to be ready to talk about before you are.
PN365E5
Our Promise
Therapy here moves at the pace your nervous system can actually hold, not the pace of a treatment plan. You’ll always know what we’re working on and why, and you can change your mind about any of it.
